Through Wall Terminal Block

2024-02-29

What is through wall terminal block

The through wall terminal block also known as the "plug-in terminal," is a type of electrical connector. It mainly consists of conductive parts and non-conductive housings, typically used to introduce wires from the outside into facilities such as cabinets, instruments, and equipment. This type of terminal allows wires to be inserted directly into the terminal without the need for screwing, facilitating quick connections. Through-wall type terminal blocks can be installed side by side on panels with thicknesses ranging from 1mm to 10mm, automatically compensating for the distance of the panel thickness, forming terminal rows of any number of poles. Additionally, they are equipped with isolation plates to increase air clearances and creepage distances, thereby enhancing insulation performance and protection levels. The installation process is simple and convenient, as users only need to wire externally before starting work, eliminating many unnecessary wiring steps.

Why use through wall terminal block

The H-type through-wall terminal block can be installed side by side on panels with thicknesses ranging from 1mm to 10mm. It automatically compensates for the distance of the panel thickness, forming terminal rows of any number of poles. Additionally, isolation plates can be used to increase air clearances and creepage distances. These terminal blocks can be securely installed in rectangular pre-drilled holes on the panel without the need for any tools, making installation extremely convenient.

Adavantages of through wall terminal block

Isolation and Protection: They provide a barrier between the electrical components on either side of the wall, offering protection from environmental factors like moisture, dust, and debris. This helps to prevent short circuits, electrical shocks, and damage to the wiring.

Space-saving: Through-wall terminal blocks allow for neat and compact wiring installations, especially in applications where space is limited. By passing wires directly through the wall or panel, they eliminate the need for additional space-consuming wiring connections on both sides.

Ease of Installation: They simplify the installation process by providing a single point of connection for wires on either side of the barrier. This reduces the number of connections that need to be made and makes maintenance and troubleshooting more straightforward.

Flexibility: Through-wall terminal blocks come in various configurations and sizes to accommodate different wiring requirements. They can support a wide range of wire gauges and connection types, providing flexibility in design and implementation.

Organization: By consolidating wiring connections at a central point, through-wall terminal blocks help to organize and streamline the electrical system. This makes it easier to identify and manage connections, reducing the risk of errors and simplifying maintenance tasks.
